Fun with foreign languages

Posted under Fun

Sometimes a foreign language can be quite hard to master.

I remember once on the Canary Island, where you could buy ‘Fried Kittens’, of course they meant ‘Fried Chicken’ :-) When I told them about their error, they understood why they nearly never sold it :)

So yesterday I found this picture of dive trip prices :) English can be a hard language :)

Travel show in Copenhagen

Posted under Diveshow & Photography & Tec diving

In the weekend 24-25. of January there was a traveling show in Copenhagen, with a small diveshow part.

Unfortunately it was the same as in Düsseldorf, nothing new to see, but it was a good place to meet old students, old colleges, dive friends, and just to talk.

There was a big display of all sorts of different rebreathers from the very old to the brand new ones, like the Sentinel and the Poseidon Cis Lunar MK. VI.

I had the pleasure of seeing a presentation made by Mark Ellyat a famous deep diver, he had made some nice videos of his dive, to the Victoria, Yolanda and other wrecks. Also i saw the last 10 minutes of John Bantin’s presentation of lovely underwater pictures.

The pictures is a mixture of old friends, rebreathers and the presentations.

I am now a Emergency Oxygen Provider Instructor

Posted under Courses

On Saturday the 24th of January I did a PADI Emergency Oxygen Provider Instructor trainig course.

So now I can teach student the correct use of emergency oxygen.

Recent statistics show that in 2007 less than 50% of dive injuries where given oxygen to help recovery. Administering oxygen is a good way to help handle the different sorts of Decompression Illnesses.

If you want to read more about this good course, take a look here.

If you are interested in a Oxygen provider course, feel free to contact me at: soren(at)dykkeren.dk replace the obvious in the e-mail address :-)
