The Poseidon Discovery MKVI Logfile Analyzer

As you can see in this post I have created a Logfile Analyzer tool.

The newest version can always be downloaded from here:

Download Poseidon Discovery MKVI Logfile Analyzer

If you like the program, and want to support it, feel free to donate using the Donate button left of here.

History of the program:

      • 2012/03/22 V1.2.4.0 Changed X-Axis to time instead of samples

        Here is an example:

      • 2012/03/12 V1.2.3.0 Field update
        Updated the field list, for field #33, 68, 239, 240, 247, 248
      • 2012/03/12 V1.2.2.0 Bug fix and Field update
Another empty file bug detected and fixed
Update field description, with info regarding
        Field #22 End of O2 calibration, 0 = OK, 2 = Failed
Failed means the O2 linearity test failed, so the PO2 is set to 1.0 for the dive.
      • 2012/03/12 V1.2.1.0 Bug fix
If the first logfile in the logfilefolder was empty, the program would crash.
Thanks to Submis for sending me his logfile folder, that helped finding the bug.
      • 2012/03/08 V1.2.0.0 Major update

        The new features are:

        • You can now specify a ‘Logfile Folder’, the selected folders path will be saved.
        • The logfiles in the specified folder are shown in a selectable list.
        • The selection of graphs is remembered when you change logfile, if a selected graph is not present in the new selection it will not be shown, and the selection removed.
        • Depth/Maxdepth are always shown using the Y-Axis left of the graph, everything else uses the Y-Axis on the right side of the graph.
        • The state of ‘Always show Depth’ is saved.
        • Added ‘Event’ type for plotting the graphs. Shown as a diamond shaped figure on the graph.

An Anonymous user provided info about some new fields:

        • #3 Power Off event
        • #11 Ascent Rate Alert >10 m/s
        • #22 End of O2 calibration
        • #31 Start of O2 calibration

The new interface can be seen here, click to see the full interface.

      • 2012/02/24 V1.1.0.0
Changed Field #37 to ‘Remaining dive time’, to reflect Poseidon’s naming.
Added #16 which looks very much like #37.
Added number of values behind each row in the selector in left hand side.
Added ‘Always show depth’, which shows the depth on every graph. The depth has it’s own Y-Axis if more than on graph shown at any time.
      • 2012/02/23 V1.0.2.0 Update field list, #25 is Decotime in Minutes.
        Suggested by Romano.
      • 2012/02/17 V1.0.1.0 Added displaying of filename on graph.
        Suggested by Submis from RebreatherWorld.
      • 2012/02/16 Release of version V1.0.0.0
Thanks to Submis, Jeppe_E, Stefan Bartnitzky, GaryB, Sten, jpastora, Maik, Crazydoc, Nathan74, Tony_Q and everyone else on RebreatherWorld who gave suggestions and feedback for the initial release.

To do list:

      • Add automatic functionality to inform user about updates, can be turned off.
      • Add button to let user do ‘check for update’.
      • Let user select where to save the generated graphs, program remembers location.
      • Remember selection of specific graphs, so the default graph always could be ‘depth, Diluent/O2 tank pressure’.
      • Log crash errors in a errorlog, so you can e-mail it to me as a bug report.
      • Progress bar when generating many graphs
      • Make better and simpler design of the application

Feel free to post suggestions, and give feedback so I can improve the program.

Here is a few example of the graphs from a dive I did in Sharm el Sheikh last summer, including a screenshot of the User-interface where I Compare PO2 values with the PO2 setpoint.

The code 25 is Deco Time.
During a dive I wrote the deco time on my dashboard and then I verified on the log and I found the datas on code 25.
Thanks for your very good program.

    Hi Romano

Thanks a lot for your information.

I did a check with a dive, where I ended up in deco, and it looks like you are absolutely correct :-)

I’ll add the new information to the program :-)
