Dolphin asks diver for help

Posted under Environment & Hawaii

On January 11th a diver leading a group of snorkelers on a nightly Manta Ray dive/snorkel trip, was approach by a Dolphin.

The dolphin was entangled in fishing wire and was asking for help to get it removed.

The diver Keller Laros, did of course help the  dolphin.

The dive site was actually the same site, where I did my first Manta Ray night dive on the 3th of January 2013.

A friend did send me a link to this youtube video:

I wonder if the 2 divers, had any clue at all, how bad the situation really was. I hope they appreciated the help from the videographer.

I am now a Emergency Oxygen Provider Instructor

Posted under Courses

On Saturday the 24th of January I did a PADI Emergency Oxygen Provider Instructor trainig course.

So now I can teach student the correct use of emergency oxygen.

Recent statistics show that in 2007 less than 50% of dive injuries where given oxygen to help recovery. Administering oxygen is a good way to help handle the different sorts of Decompression Illnesses.

If you want to read more about this good course, take a look here.

If you are interested in a Oxygen provider course, feel free to contact me at: soren(at)dykkeren.dk replace the obvious in the e-mail address :-)
